Following the projects for the realization of a series of publications in the Albanian language, the Albanian Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization, in cooperation with the Center for Advanced Studies (CNS), are towards the finalization of the project for the publication in Albanian language of the study book ” A Brief Introduction to Qur’anic Exegesis”, by Ali Suleiman Ali. The main purpose of the author was to provide readers with basic information about the evolution of the tafsir of some of the leading interpreters of the Qur’an and their works.
According to the author, the Qur’an is addressed to humanity, first of all, for guidance in all aspects of life: spiritual, political, economic, social, etc. Therefore, the correct interpretation of the Holy Book remains important. This study aims to introduce readers, especially students of tafsir sciences, to the historical development of Qur’anic interpretation, from the time of the Prophet Muhammad (a.s.), until today.
The paper emphasizes the nature, characteristics and methodology of the tafsir of the Prophet (a.s.), but also discusses the tafsir of the Companions of the Prophet (a.s.), or of the generation that followed the Companions. The book also sheds light on some new trends in the contemporary world, highlighting some differences between classical and modern works of tafsir.
