The Albanian Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization, in collaboration with the Center for Advanced Studies (CNS), is completing the process of printing a book entitled: “Shura – The Qur’anic Principle of Counseling, a Tool for Reconstruction and Reform” author Ahmad Al-Raysuni. This scholarly work on the topic of counseling is in the continuation of a series of publications being carried out in Albanian language to complement the knowledge and knowledge of Albanians on contemporary Islamic scientific and cultural developments.

In recent decades, the Islamic academic and cultural field has witnessed the publication of hundreds of books and articles on the issue of counseling (Shura). But there is still much to be said on this issue. Muslims today are unaware of the importance and value of Shura, while scholars are somewhat uncertain as to whether it is compulsory or not and what issues require counseling.

Widely dealt with in this book, Shura is often commented upon as a democratic participation in a decision-making process based on the Qur’an and Prophetic Tradition. This has fueled debate among critics who challenge the notion of Shura’s equation with democracy. Unfortunately, according to the author, although much has been written on the subject, in fact, this type of counseling has been ineffectively implemented, at best, and has been carelessly ignored, at worst.

Through this book, the author aims to promote the practice of counseling and support efforts in building the Islamic community around the world. By addressing various opinions and ideas, as well as bringing real examples and facts, the author concludes that counseling should be adopted as a way of life for all Muslims to protect their interests. Much of the book explores the ways in which the principle of counseling can be incorporated, institutionalized, and applied in Muslim society. The book is already in the process of printing and will soon be in the hands of readers.
